| yoga icons? |

hi there. i was wondering where ya'll find yoga icons? the two posts in the tags are not working because the persons account is inactive. as my practice continues my posts become more frequent and i want an icon(changing it as the seasons change) to use and i only have about 4 basic ones. most of the icon communities do celebrities, actors, and anime so i figured looking in those would be looking through a haystack.

Dear Yogins & Yoginis!
Couldn't somebody of you help me? I translate a yoga lecture from Russian into English for an English version of our site. And I need several native speakers of English to check if my translation is understandable for you.
The theme is “Five main principles of a way of life of Yogins and Yoginis handed us down the highest yoga knowledge. Introduction”.
I have 18 pages of this lecture but you may read as many as you have time for, may be one or two.
If you want to help me please answer here and I’ll send you this lecture.

One more thing to love about ballet:
It keeps you warm ♥♥♥
Putting pointe shoes on when your toes are already miserable because they're freezing can suck, but it is infinitely preferable to sitting home and shivering. I'm piling on warmups for open class as I write.
I'm thinking of adding bikram yoga once a week, then I'll be all set to survive another bitter winter in...Northern California. Yeah, I'm pathetic.
If you're headed to class tonight, good luck and have fun! If not, soak those muscles in a hot bath, your flexibility will thank you. |

Hello there!
I'm new to LJ and I'm new to this community though I'm so very glad I found it! I was wondering if any of you can help answer a question I've had in mind?
I'm 20 years old, Asian (though I'm not one of your naturally skinny ones - I'm unfortunately quite the opposite kind..) and I'm hoping to take up Beginner Adult Ballet lessons in January! I've always loved Ballet, I've done it before back in Hong Kong for about 2 years but when I moved over to England for high school, the Ballet classes were always full so I had to settle down with Modern Dance, Jazz Dance & Tap Dance - don't get me wrong, I loved those classes but it's nothing like doing something you've wanted to do forever! But anyway, here's my question:
Will Ballet help me lose weight?
I'm 5'3 - 5'4 and I'm 190lbs. I've recently been doing at least 45 minutes on my exercise bike a day and have been trying to eat healthily (note the 'trying' part of that). Been trying to shed those pounds off before I start lessons in January. I ideally want to be below 120lbs but I was hoping that Ballet will help as well on top of the things I'm doing? Or do you guys reckon I should join more of a cardio dance class as well?
